Kame (aka Tassos Tataroglou) was born in 1985 in Greece, where he studied trumpet, musicology, composition and pedagogy. Since 2013 lives in Basel where he attended the master in free improvisation in the Hochschule für Musik Basel with Fred Frith and Alfred Zimmerlin. Being interested in the timbre of the sound and its development, he built during his masters the Microtone-Duplex trumpet, an instrument which combines elements of the brass construction from the Rennaisance until today. The result of his research on this trumpet is the main material for his experimentations. He works with music ensembles, presents solo works, and enjoys transdisciplinary projects with music, video, painting, dance and theater.
